Alli and Ryan met on a camping trip in Moab, Utah over Memorial Day Weekend in 2021, which is ironic because neither of them like camping. After a summer living in Denver, Alli returned to Minneapolis to finish grad school, but was lucky to receive an offer to return after graduation for a job. That year, Alli and Ryan visited each other in their respective cities. This included an early test of their relationship when Ryan took Alli skiing in Colorado for the first time and took her down a black diamond run. Ryan had to save her after she tumbled all the way down the mountain. Against all odds, they made it to June 2022 when Alli officially moved to Denver.
